Since hearing about the upcoming jamboree, one of our young leaders has been inspired:
“Ever since my dad told me about the World Scout Jamboree to be held in Gdańsk, Poland in 2027, I knew I had to try my best to go. I absolutely love Scouting and I felt it would be a dream come true to represent 25th Allerton and Merseyside at the biggest international event in Scouting.
I started off my journey by attending a road-show where some of the leaders who had attended previous World Jamborees spoke about their life-changing experiences. It sounded so exciting that I worked really hard on my application and submitted it as soon as I could.
Luckily I made it through the first sift and was invited to the selection day at Tawd Vale. During the day, we were put into groups and undertook different activities such as pioneering, map reading and many more. Another key part of the day was the interview where we were asked a few questions individually.
The next Monday I was amazed when I received an email telling me that I had been selected. This will involve a journey where I’ll have to work in a group with the rest of the Merseyside contingent, we will do preparation together and need to fundraise to allow us all to go. I know it won’t be easy but I’m committed to do my best to represent our Scouts and our Country.”
What is the Jamboree?
The 26th World Scout Jamboree takes place from 30 July to 8 August 2027 in Gdańsk, Poland.
The theme is “Bravely” — encouraging us to act with courage, connect globally and embrace new challenges.
It will bring together young people and adult volunteers from around the world, offering adventurous activities, cultural exchange, outdoor life and lifelong friendships.
Who can attend?
Youth Participants must be aged 14-17 at the time of the Jamboree.
Adults (18+) can attend as part of the International Service Team (IST) or as Unit Leaders.
The UK contingent will select youth and leaders through local processes — from application to selection to fundraising and preparation.
What our young leader is doing
Submitted an application and passed a local selection event featuring pioneering, map-reading and interviews.
Has been selected to join the Merseyside contingent.
Will now begin preparation weekends, teamwork, programme training and fundraising so our group can support the journey together.
Will carry our uniform, values and the spirit of 25th Allerton to Poland — representing our community abroad.
What it means for 25th Allerton
This is a huge opportunity for our group. We’ll not only support this young leader’s journey but also celebrate what this means for all our young people — that dreams, adventure and global friendship are within reach. We’ll follow every step of the journey, share stories, fundraising events and encourage others to aim high.
