Meet the Ambassadors of Allerton – Local Heroes Inspiring Scouts
Building Community Together
Welcome to the Ambassadors page of the 25th Allerton Scout Group, based in Grassendale, Cressington, and Allerton, Liverpool. Our Scout Ambassadors are inspiring individuals who live the values of Scouting, leadership, and service. They champion our mission, support community engagement, and help us grow strong connections across South Liverpool.
Whether it’s amplifying local projects, guiding young people, or shining a light on grassroots efforts, our Ambassadors embody the Scout spirit: integrity, respect, adventure, and care for others. By sharing their time, skills, and energy, they help Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts gain the confidence and skills they’ll carry for life.
What Does a Scout Ambassador Do?
Our Ambassadors are more than just supporters – they’re active, visible members of our extended Scouting family. They:
Represent 25th Allerton Scout Group in the community
Promote Scouting values and encourage civic involvement
Support local youth programs and community events
Help raise awareness of Scouting in South Liverpool
Celebrate volunteerism, education, and grassroots impact
Why Ambassadors Matter
We believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive. That’s why our Ambassadors help us:
Reach more families and schools across Cressington, Grassendale, and Aigburth
Partner with local leaders, councillors, and changemakers
Connect Scouts, Beavers, Cubs, and Young Leaders with new opportunities
Their influence helps us deliver more adventures, build stronger friendships, and make a lasting difference in Liverpool.

Together, we can build a brighter future – one young person at a time.
Say hello to Richard – Community Champion and Proud 25th Allerton Ambassador!

Richard first stepped up to serve his neighbours in 2021, when he was elected as councillor for Cressington. Right from the start, he rolled up his sleeves – speaking up for residents on the Neighbourhood Services Committee and keeping our streets safe through the Merseyside Police & Crime Panel.
When ward boundaries shifted two years later, Richard gladly put himself forward again and was re-elected to represent the new Grassendale & Cressington ward. These days you’ll find him guiding the Council’s Audit Committee with the same down-to-earth good sense he brings to everything he does.
A Big Heart for Local Learning
Richard’s passion for helping young people shine is unmistakable. He’s been a school governor at Booker Avenue Infant School and now at Gilmour Primary, cheering pupils on as they discover their talents.
A spur-of-the-moment litter pick with two neighbours in 2021 blossomed into the “Cressington Wombles” – a friendly volunteer crew who keep our parks and pavements looking their best.
Turning Ideas into Action
Using his councillor neighbourhood fund, Richard has backed a brilliant mix of grassroots projects:
St Mary’s Pantry – helping to relieve food poverty
Local Beaver colonies & holiday camps – giving youngsters space to play and grow
Elektric Apple theatre group – championing creativity for adults with disabilities
St Mary’s Church & Christmas tree – lighting up the heart of Grassendale each December
Colourful planters on St Mary's Road, Aigburth Road and Garston Old Road – brightening daily journeys for us all
Why We’re Delighted
Richard’s warmth, energy and “let’s-do-this” spirit embody everything 25th Allerton stands for: integrity, respect and care for others. We’re thrilled he’s joined us as an ambassador, and we can’t wait to work side by side to spark even more adventure, friendship and community pride in South Liverpool.
Welcome aboard, Richard – together we’ll make great things happen!
