Cubs in Grassendale L19 – Outdoor Skills & Fun (Ages 8–10½)

Welcome to the 25th Allerton Cub Pack

It's perfect for 8- to 10½-year-olds across Grassendale, Allerton, and beyond. We meet Mondays at The Scout Hut, where Cubs cook over campfires, launch water rockets, and navigate orienteering trails. Cubs is where curiosity meets confidence, teamwork grows naturally, and adventure feels like second nature.

It is the next thrilling chapter for young people aged 8 to 10½ as they build on their Beaver or Squirrel adventures and stretch their wings a little further.

In Cubs, children become part of a bigger “pack” with new roles like Sixer and Seconder, giving them their first taste of leadership while still enjoying the laughter and teamwork that make Scouting special.

It’s a friendly, buzzing space where curiosity is celebrated and every Cub feels they belong.

You can rest easy knowing your child’s wellbeing comes first. All leaders are fully trained, DBS‑checked volunteers who follow The Scout Association’s rigorous safety and safeguarding policies

With inspiring role models like new Chief Scout Dwayne Fields championing inclusion and belonging, Cubs truly is a place for every child.

Our programme is all about mastering new skills and trying bold adventures. One week Cubs might be orienteering through twilight woods; the next they’re testing a homemade water‑rocket, learning first aid or earning a new Activity Badge

Whether it’s a one‑night camp under canvas or a kitchen “cook‑off” for the Chef badge, every activity nudges them to think bigger, solve problems and cheer each other on.
