A bright Saturday in L19

What a wonderful Saturday morning we had with the Cressington Wombles. A fantastic 42 all ages joined in and filled an incredible 39 bags of litter to keep our community clean, bright and welcoming.

We were joined by new faces, familiar friends, and even a few four legged helpers. Marie kept the kettle going so everyone could return for a well earned cuppa and biscuits at 11am. Margaret and Roger even hopped on a bus to start clearing opposite Lidl, and they are planning to continue tomorrow. Joe and his family brought back not just litter but a table and a bucket too. That is dedication.

Little moments that made us smile

While the litter pick was in full swing, Joan and Phil turned their care to watering the planters in St Mary’s garden, and the Woodland Garden Project got its bird feeders topped up. Along St Mary’s Road and Aigburth Road, the railing planters are looking glorious. Nasturtiums trail like ribbons, tomato plants are setting fruit, bees are buzzing happily, and begonias are storybook bright. A true feast for the eyes.

Teamwork in action

It has been an epic morning of teamwork, care and community pride. All litter bags have been reported for collection, and we are already looking ahead to the next mini adventure together.
