We’re thrilled to share that 25th Allerton has received a bursary from Nestlé Vitaflo to kickstart our Go Green Project – a group-wide adventure into recycling, sustainability and making a real difference in our community.
This is more than just a project – it’s a mission to protect our planet, build awareness, and show how even the smallest actions can have a big impact.
Here’s what we’ve been up to so far:
🧤 Litter Legends
Each of our sections continues to litter pick along St Mary’s Road and beyond, keeping our local area clean and cared for. Our amazing Beaver Scouts have created over 30 colourful litter posters, now proudly displayed on school railings and pedestrian crossings to spread the message far and wide.
🧱 EcoBrick Builders
Beaver Scouts have also rolled up their sleeves to create ecobricks – plastic bottles filled with clean, unrecyclable plastic waste that will be used to build planters for the community. After a hands-on recycling workshop, they set to work collecting soft plastics from home, cutting it all up, and filling bottles until each one reached the magic number of 666 grams.

👕 Cubs Swap & Save
Our Cubs are planning a Christmas jumper and costume swap shop in October to give festive outfits a second life and reduce textile waste. It’s a fun and eco-friendly way to recycle clothing while spreading joy.
🎨 Murals with a Message
This summer, community artists will be painting nature-themed murals on the outside of our scout hut to celebrate our green values and inspire others to care for the environment. We can’t wait to share photos with you soon!
We’ll keep you updated as the project grows – and we’d love for you to be part of it.
Let’s go green, together!
