⚜️ Behind the Neckerchief – Meet the Local Heroes Supporting Our Scouts
At 25th Allerton, we’re all about adventure, friendship, and growing the kind of young people who’ll shape the future with confidence and care. But behind the badges and marshmallows, there’s something even more powerful at work… our Scout Ambassadors.
These aren’t just names on a page. They’re champions of our community, rolled-up-sleeves role models who are helping us build bridges, spark ideas, and bring people together across Grassendale, Cressington and beyond.
💬 What’s a Scout Ambassador Anyway?
Think of them as Scouting’s biggest fans and fiercest supporters. They:
Cheer us on at local events
Help us connect with schools, families and groups
Share their time, talents and community know-how
Spread the word about how brilliant Scouting is
Encourage every young person to believe they can make a difference
These are real, caring leaders who live our values and bring the best out in others. And when our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Young Leaders see their example – they know they can do it too.
🧹 Meet Richard Clein – Our 2025 Scout Ambassador and Litter-Picking Legend
We’re thrilled to have Councillor Richard Clein as our 2025 Ambassador. You might know him from his work as a councillor, or from one of the many community projects he supports across South Liverpool.
🌈 Big Heart. Bigger Impact.
Through his neighbourhood fund, Richard has supported all sorts of local magic, like:
St Mary’s Pantry, supporting families with dignity and kindness
Holiday camps and Beaver colonies, where young people thrive
Elektric Apple theatre group, bringing creativity to adults with disabilities
Festive lights in Grassendale, adding sparkle to our winters
Neighbourhood clean-ups and colour, showing we care
And he’s still finding new ways to support youth, education and community spirit – whether it’s through his role as a school governor or by cheering us on at a campfire.
🤝 Why This Matters to Us
When young people see someone like Richard take an interest in them – whether it’s helping out, listening to ideas, or just turning up with a smile – it sends a message that they matter. That what they do matters.
And that’s exactly what Scouting is all about.
By having ambassadors who are genuinely invested in the place we live and the people who live here, we’re not just creating opportunities – we’re creating a culture of care, connection and confidence.
🚀 Growing the Future, One Connection at a Time
At 25th Allerton, we believe it takes a village to grow a Scout. And we’re so lucky to have that village – from our wonderful volunteers and leaders to community champions like Richard who bring energy, kindness and action to everything they do.
Thank you to Richard and to everyone helping us shape tomorrow’s leaders today.
Want to get involved? It could start with a litter pick, a shared idea, or just a chat over tea. Every connection matters.
