Safe Play, Indoors and Out

How we make sure our meetings, games and activities at the hut and gardens are safe, fun and welcoming for all.

RISK ASSESMENT

1/7/20241 min read

From indoor games to outdoor fun in the hut gardens, every activity is carefully planned so that young people can join in with confidence. This risk assessment helps us think through possible hazards and how to prevent them, so our activities remain adventurous but safe.

We look at things like:

  • Fire safety — from small stoves to campfire circles

  • Games and play — reducing risks from slips, trips, bumps and falls

  • Equipment — safe use of tables, chairs, tools and craft materials

  • Outdoor boundaries — keeping children safe near roads and gardens

  • Behaviour and inclusion — setting clear expectations and making sure everyone can join in

With trained adult supervision and first aid always at hand, our young people can throw themselves into fun, active games knowing their wellbeing comes first.
